Caravaggio and the Masters of Light
Caravaggism at the Historical Infantry Museum
The exhibition Caravaggio and the Masters of Light celebrates the revolutionary influence of Michelangelo Merisi, known as Caravaggio, and the entire Caravaggist movement through a journey of 23 paintings by 22 artists, with loans from European private collections, on display at the Museo Storico della Infanteria in Rome from 7 March to 7 June 2026.
The exhibition is divided into six thematic areas showcasing works by Italian and international artists, from Bartolomeo Manfredi and Antiveduto Gramatica to the interpretations of Orazio Gentileschi, Massimo Stanzione, and other masters who reinterpreted Caravaggio’s style.
Located in one of Rome’s historic areas, the exhibition is an unmissable event for painting and art history enthusiasts.
